Hey, my fiancee and I moved to the Detroit area about five years ago and I think I can help! When we moved here we were blown away by the friendly people, but didn’t know where to go on dates and the such. I recommend going into Detroit proper and hitting up the Eastside! All the neighborhoods here feature great restaurants (Mama’s Soulfood, that hotdog cart with the guy with the cats and big knife, or just join a couple friends around a trash fire for some delicious Mystery Meat!) Afterwards you and your partner can pick up a Pro, some amazing Crack, and get robbed and beaten all within a few blocks. Just don’t forget to tip the guy who parks your car for you (We did and he never returned our car). Detroit’s wonders aren’t isolated on the Eastside of DT though, just get out and walk around for the full visceral experience of Detroit’s nightlife. Romance at its greatest!
