Here are some suggestions from our engineering staff.

A lot of AM reception is dependent on the antenna. Most radios have the antenna built in to the device. Rotate the device for best reception.

Static in the radio has to do with environment. For the most part, static in the house is coming in from the AC power of the house.

You can help narrow down the problem with the following troubleshooting questions.

Do your neighbors have the same problem? It could be a transformer going bad.

Is the static the same if you\’re in the car in your driveway? The car operates from a battery so you\’ll know the static is coming from the house.

Any new construction going on with;
Intersections, (cameras going up) new street lights
Cable company
Phone company
Neighbors
