Director – Safety Electronics & Innovation, General Motors Global Vehicle Engineering

John is currently Director of Active and Passive Safety Electronics, Controls, & Innovation within General Motors Global Vehicle Engineering where he’s responsible for the planning, development, and execution of safety and assistance technologies.

John has over 28 years of experience at General Motors working in various areas of product engineering related to safety. John holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from GMI Engineering & Management Institute (now Kettering University), and an MS in Engineering from Purdue University.  John has worked on many aspects of the safety and crashworthiness for many GM vehicle products and, for the past 6 years, has been primarily focused on the development and implementation of active safety and advanced driver assistance technologies.
