Chrystal was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from Eastern Michigan University. She received two scholarships in theater — one to Wayne State University and the other to Eastern Michigan University.

Chrystal graduated from EMU, with a Bachelor of Science in Communication/Radio,Television and Film.

She also spent a number of years in Southern California, where she got her start in the news broadcasting industry. Chrystal was awarded “Reporter of the Year” for her work on Local Origination television in Los Angeles.

During her career in broadcasting, she has worked as a television news anchor, for WLNS in Lansing, promotions producer for WDIV, (Local 4 news) a writer for Fox 2-Detroit and an an account executive for Crawford Broadcasting in Detroit.

Chrystal’s love for the performing arts has landed her roles in several professional stage plays at the Music Hall, Fisher Theater and other venues around the country. She’s received numerous awards for acting and public speaking.

When not working, Chrystal and her husband Tim love to spend time serving in Christian ministry, reading and teaching the Bible. Chrystal also has a passion for animals. She often lends her support to local no-kill shelters and rescues. Chrystal and Tim have a shelter rescue dog named Faith and a cat they rescued as a kitten from the streets. Her name is Grace.
