BREAKING NEWS: Mile-Wide Tornado Rips Through Oklahoma City Area MORE

Dan Leach

dtm 97.1

Born and raised in one of the nation’s most important cities, Detroit, Dan Leach has always had a very deep connection to the city and teams he grew up loving and rooting for. Even while working in TV and Radio away from the Motor City, his love for his hometown and its great teams never wavered. Rumors of him coming out of the womb signing “Forward Down The Field” lead to epic trips to Lions and Michigan football games with his grandpa and father starting at age two. There his bond and love of sports was born.

A graduate and classmate of Charlie Batch and Earl Boykins at Eastern Michigan University , he was often seen cracking Boykins up as he diagramed plays in one of the greatest college courses ever assembled, “Theory of Basketball 101.” Dan then was lucky enough to be baptized in broadcasting as an intern with Dan “Touchdown Detroit Lions” Miller at Fox 2. Stops in Costa Rica (some of the most beautiful women in the world), Atlanta, and Florida followed.

He comes back home to join 97.1 The Ticket after hosting nationally syndicated shows on Sports Byline USA and Sirius Satellite Radio. Dan has also called football and basketball play-by-play on radio and TV, most recently on the NAFL game of the week on CAMTV.

An avid hot air balloon enthusiast, huge Pearl Jam fan, and always willing to look at both sides of an argument or story, Dan could not be happier to be joining the great team at 97.1 The Ticket. He looks forward to sparking hearty debate, entertaining the great people of Michigan, and making the world a better place one listener at a time.
