Rob Pascoe

Rob PascoeThose who know Rob Pascoe aren’t surprised that he’s doing what he always wanted to do – talk on the radio for a living! Pascoe has done a little of everything in the business: sports/news anchor, host, disc jockey, voice-overs. He got into radio as a kid in high school, taking classes at both Livonia Stevenson and Livonia Churchill. After graduating from Specs Howard School of Broadcast Arts, Pascoe was off to Alma, Michigan to work for WMLM 1520 AM. He did it all at the “Big M,” including news, sports and spinning country music. (hates country music) Nearly two years later, Pascoe headed to WKHM AM 970 in Jackson, Michigan to be the news director. After 18 months in Jackson, Pascoe packed up the car and moved to San Francisco, California to work as a video production assistant. California was cool, but as a self-described mama’s boy, Pascoe got homesick and returned to Southeast Michigan a year later.

Upon returning to metro Detroit, Pascoe took a job at Specs Howard working as an audio assistant. A few months later, he was given a position teaching news/applied writing at the school. The itch to get back on the air was too much for Pascoe, so he left the school to take a job as sports anchor for WYUR AM 1310. Nearly one year later, Pascoe took a job working for Sports Radio 1130 WDFN as an update anchor. During a long run at “the Fan,” Pascoe was able to host several shows as well. They included a college football pregame show, Lions pregame, Pistons pre and post game, NASCAR and a Saturday morning “anything goes” show. The NASCAR show, “On the Track,” ran for three seasons and was the only Sprint Cup radio show in the Motor City.

Following his stint at WDFN, Pascoe landed at WWJ News Radio 950 in March 2009. He considers it an “honor” to be working with the entire staff at WWJ.
