One of the top trending topics on the Internet Monday morning is the high price of gas. According to AAA Michigan, the average price of gas is up 4.4 cents this week, averaging $4.01 per gallon.
Most state travelers – an estimated 92 percent – will go by vehicle to enjoy “summer’s last hurrah,” with resort areas, campgrounds, and lakes among the popular destinations.
AAA Michigan says motorists are paying nine cents less for gas this week. That follows last week’s dip of nearly one cent.
AAA Michigan is projecting that residents will be traveling a greater distance – almost 150 miles more than in 2011.
