Settlement is worth more than $1 billion in a case involving hundreds of lawsuits over acceleration problems in its vehicles.
Recall concerns accelerator pedals that could become entrapped in floor mats or jammed in carpeting.
A Toyota spokesman says the automaker doesn’t plan to release the results of its probe into complaints of unintended acceleration until the government finishes its own investigations.
