With rain in the forecast, a sizable crowd greeted the first day of Labor Day weekend and the traditional Arts, Beats and Eats festival in the streets of downtown Royal Oak.
Saturday morning begins with the Priority in Health Arts in Motion, which includes a 10k and 5k run and walk.
The festival has maintained its ranking among the top 50 fine arts shows in the US.
Ford Arts, Beats & Eats announced its stage entertainment lineup Tuesday. Headliners include Smash Mouth, Eddie Money, Soul Asylum, Montgomvery Gentry, Guster, Puddle of Mud and MC Hammer.
