A metro Detroit elementary school is asking students to leave their backpacks at home after bedbugs were found in the school.
School officials became aware that a 12-year-old Downriver girl had taken a backpack to school filled with $20,000 in cash after she started giving away hundreds of dollars to friends.
Officers were alerted to the incident when other students reported a child was passing out $100 bills to classmates.
