Former University of Connecticut players Richard Hamilton, Ben Gordon and Charlie Villanueva chartered a plane from Washington, D.C. to Houston Monday to attend the Huskies’ NCAA national championship victory over Butler.
Will Bynum had 20 points against Boston Sunday while making his second straight start at the point but he wasn’t much of a playmaker. He had just one assist while committing four turnovers. He also allowed counterpart Rajon Rondo to rack up 14 assists.
The Pistons had 29 assists against Washington, one shy of their season high. They racked up 30 against Toronto Dec. 11. Their shooting guard combo of Ben Gordon and Richard Hamilton made the extra pass, combining for 10 assists.
Guard Ben Gordon is the only player who has played in every game this season. Tracy McGrady and Tayshaun Prince had played in every game this season until both sat out in Philadelphia last week.
Ben Gordon started out shooting 0-7 but ended up with 25 points for the night and 24 of those coming in the second half.
