We love our professional athletes in Detroit even if they are mediocre.
Brandon Inge is headed to the Pirates.
Friday afternoon both the Tigers and A’s hit the field in preparation of the American League Divisional series that gets started on Saturday at Comerica Park in Detroit.
Even though he is injured and out for the remainder of the season, Brandon Inge was at Comerica Park on Wednesday rooting on his new team, the Oakland Athletics.
In Detroit, baseball fans were consumed with the trade that brought the Tigers Omar Infante and Anibal Sanchez to the Tigers.
The Oakland Athletics have placed third baseman Brandon Inge on the 15-day disabled list with a strained right groin and recalled infielder Adam Rosales from Triple-A Sacramento.
I dislike a major league second basemen hitting .157 as much as you do.
Champ: Brandon Inge for his play against the Tiger over the weekend, was he released too soon?
The only time you would expect to see the names “Brandon Inge” and “Lou Gehrig” in the same sentence would be something to the effect that both men played Major League Baseball. And both were in the American League. But Inge now has the unlikely distinction of being the first player to have at least four rbi’s in four games during a five-game stretch since Gehrig did it way back in 1931.
While it might be a stretch to say that the Detroit and Oakland match-up was highly anticipated – eyes were on Brandon Inge just to see what he’d do at the plate.
