Report: Catcher Alex Avila To Remain Starter For Tigers In 2015

The Tigers plan to maintain Alex Avila as their starting catcher next season despite his issues with concussions and declining production since his peak season of 2011 according to a recent report.

Tigers Sign Victor Martinez

It’s a done deal. The Detroit Tigers Friday announced the club has agreed to terms with catcher/designated hitter Victor Martinez on a four-year contract. The deal is reportedly worth $50 million.
