Local Kids Head Back To Class After Connecticut School Shooting

Teachers, principals and administrators at metro Detroit schools are reassuring students and parents following Friday’s shooting rampage at a Connecticut elementary school.

At least 26 people, including 20 young children, were killed when a gunman assaulted the school and another body was found dead at a second linked crime scene, police said.  Police spokesman Lieutenant Paul Vance told reporters that the attacker killed 20 children and six adults, including someone that he lived with, at the Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Connecticut.  The gunman also died at the scene, and a 28th body was found elsewhere.

Newtown Plans Burials As School’s Future Debated

Newtown, Connecticut is bracing itself for the first funerals for victims of the school shooting last week that left 20 children and six adults dead.

Sports World Shaken By Connecticut School Shooting

The school shooting in Connecticut hit close to home for several sports stars, and they extended their condolences over social media websites such as Twitter.
