Online Holiday Shopping Yields Record Levels Of Fraud

The Consumer Fraud Center said holiday shoppers went off a “shopping cliff” in terms of being ripped off by counterfeit and fake goods sold by cybercriminals this year in excess of $2 billion for the period of November-December 2012.

Detroit FBI: Cybercrime Serious, Growing

Tom Winterhalter, FBI cybercrime division supervisory special agent in Detroit, gave a sobering assessment of the cybercrime environment Thursday at Secureworld Expo Detroit. He said the FBI is working 200 data breach cases in its Detroit office alone.
