Detroit Symphony Orchestra
The home of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra is getting a new name.
In connection with four days of patriotic celebrations at Greenfield Village starting Wednesday night, The Henry Ford posted a quick video of a 1929 Model A with members of the Unites States Army Field Band playing a mini concert.
Composer Tod Machover said that the project is meant to get the message out and let other people know what Detroit feels like.
The concert will commemorate the 50th anniversary of Meadow Brook Music Festival, which opened as the DSO’s summer home in 1964.
Fernando Palazuelo said he has recently had several offers for the site — and he hasn’t budged.
