Pro-MPG Group Says Fuel Efficiency Key To Auto Industry Hiring

The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics report for September shows continued steady jobs growth in the U.S. auto sector. According to an analysis of BLS data by DrivingGrowth.org, a Web site tracking the revitalization of the U.S auto industry, September data show over 1.8 million workers in all sectors of the U.S. auto industry, including car and truck manufacturing, auto parts manufacturing, and auto dealerships.

Study Claims Fuel Efficiency Drives Auto Industry Hiring Rebound

With the launch of new federal vehicle fuel economy rules a week away, the American auto industry has grown by nearly a quarter million jobs (236,600) since June 2009 when the auto industry hit bottom, according to a new report available from DrivingGrowth.org.
