Education Achievement Authority
The new chancellor of Michigan’s Education Achievement Authority is defending his record in the Kansas City School District after Missouri education officials revoked the district’s accreditation.
The man hired to turn around Michigan’s lowest-performing schools once led a district that wound up losing its accreditation Tuesday.
The Detroit Public School district has been steadily losing students over the past several years and now the district will likely be losing hundreds of teachers over the next few years.
The 11-member group was created by the governor to focus on identifying the five lowest-performing schools in Detroit and across the state and then improving them.
