Ford Fusion Hybrid
Ford Motor Co. Thursday revealed a Ford Fusion hybrid automated research vehicle that will be used to resarch automated driving and other advanced technology.
Ford delivered its best hybrid sales quarter ever in the first quarter of 2013 with sales totaling 21,080 vehicles — marking the first time Ford has sold more than 20,000 hybrids in a quarter. Ford’s hybrid sales were up 324 percent nationally over 2012, achieving 16 percent share of the electrified vehicle market — up from 4 percent last year.
Ford Motor Co. is touting a new patented system on its hybrid vehicles, called EV+, that allows vehicles to learn frequent destinations and changes the way power is used to deliver more electric-only driving.
It’s official — the Environmental Protection Agency has certified the 2013 Ford Fusion Hybrid at 47 mpg for both city and highway driving.
