“No Kiddie Without a Christmas.” That’s been the mission of the Old Newsboys’ Goodfellows of Detroit for almost a hundred years.
The Old Newsboys’ Goodfellow Fund of Detroit is hoping to raise $1.2 million this year through its “No Kiddie Without a Christmas” campaign, which kicked off Friday.
The Detroit Goodfellows gave out holiday gift boxes for some very needy kids, on the city’s east side.
The money goes to buy 35,000 Christmas packages for needy Detroit, Highland Park, Hamtramck and River Rouge children.
The Detroit Goodfellows has collected about half of its 1.3 million dollar goal. Gift packages starting to be distributed.
Detroit Goodfellows are hitting the streets Monday morning to hawk a special edition of The Detroit News and Detroit Free Press.
