Jimmy Aldaoud admitted taking tools from a Ferndale garage in 2012 but claimed it was a misdemeanor, not a felony.

The city partnered with Cass Community Social Services, Operation Get Down and Detroit Rescue Mission Ministries, which will stay open until March 31st.
Mayor Mike Duggan said Thursday that the city would have to move the campers from the park near downtown to a shelter where they can stay warm.
“One way or another we’re gonna move folks into the shelters pretty soon.”
Winter weather is here and that means increased danger for the homeless. One homeless man was found dead on a Pontiac front porch on New Year’s Day.
“The hard part is I’m dead broke — but it’s worth more to her than to me, ” Secaur said.
Detroit officials have received no complaints about the tent city and have no plans to move them from the park, said Sgt. Michael Woody, a police department spokesman.
“It really brings a lot of thought to what homeless youth have. Homeless youth don’t have Land’s End, North Face, Cabela’s gear like we do.”
While most of us can warm up in a home during these frigid temperatures, for the homeless it can be a different story.
