The ACLU is accusing Detroit police of removing homeless people from Greektown and dropping them off miles away.
In this Christmas season, hundreds of families across the metro Detroit area are calling a homeless shelter home.
Metro Detroit will receive $4.2 million in federal funding to promote affordable housing, fight homelessness and boost the local economy.
The report, presented by leaders of Michigan’s Campaign to End Homelessness, shows that there were 6,143 fewer Michigan residents who were homeless for any part of 2011 than who were homeless during 2010.
Volunteering not only teaches kids about the needs of others, it also instills in them a sense of responsibility and purpose. These local volunteer opportunities give kids a chance to make a difference in their own community.
