Authorities say a former food service worker at a prison in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula tried to get an inmate to help orchestrate the assault of another inmate.
The lawsuit says the man was beaten so severely and deprived medical care for several hours that he wrote in blood on a jailhouse wall in case he died.
Police say it’s not yet known what caused the death of the unidentified inmate. He was being held on a misdemeanor traffic charge.
