The first leg of the Fed Ex Playoffs on the PGA Tour was just played at Bethpage in Farmingdale, New York.
The famed Ocean Course at Kiawah Island in South Carolina is the home to this year’s PGA Championship. It also is the most difficult golf course in the country.
It is getting to be quite the familiar story.
Phil Mickelson is wearing two gloves and a watch as he hacked his way around an ugly first round at The Open Championship at Royal Lytham & St. Anne’s.
So he is the only multi time winner on the PGA Tour this year, having won three times.
I do not care what the rankings say. With his win this weekend, his third of the year, Tiger Woods is once again the top golfer in the world. No one else has even won twice.
He has proven that he can win again. Yet Tiger Woods is far from proving that he can win on golf’s greatest stage. At a major championship.
They told us after he was tied for the lead through 36 holes at the U.S. Open that “Tiger Woods is back!.”
For Tiger Woods to contend at the U.S. Open, he must continue to play as we discussed on last week’s show-using irons and three woods off the tee.
The U.S. Open will be played this week at The Olympic Club outside of San Francisco.
