Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy has filed manslaughter charges against three adults in the death of a 4-year-old Detroit boy .
The budget crisis at the Wayne County Prosecutor’s office has gone from bad to worse.

Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy endorsed the Wayne County Sheriff and his bid to become Detroit’s next mayor.
Kym Worthy wrote to the county auditor Willie Mayo that information he supplied her led to an investigation of possible fraud in the project.
“Twice women were violated, once by the rape and second by the justice was put in a box; put on a shelf. That’s going to end now,” said Attorney General Bill Schuette.
Worthy first filed suit against the county to stop a proposed budget cut that would affect her ability prosecute cases.
The Wayne County Prosecutor says her office is no longer able to handle its caseload — after recent layoffs of dozens of prosecutors.
Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy said she believes there is money to help fund her department, but the county refuses to do so.
The prosecutor’s office is losing 22 attorneys, 3 investigators and a weekend staff.
