The Detroit Pistons celebrate 25 years at the Palace of Auburn Hills this season, and the team’s commercial for the upcoming year pays tribute to the franchise’s history.
“It was the first year somebody from the NBA wanted me,” Datome said with a smile. “I couldn’t do it before.”
According to Yahoo’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Pistons signed Italian League MVP Luigi ‘Gigi’ Datome. He averaged 17 points and 5.8 rebounds for Virtus Roma of Lega A in the team’s most recent season, and Detroit has rewarded him with a two-year contract, Wojnarowski tweeted.
