There’s a little bit of controversy building in Detroit, where coach Maurice Cheeks and star forward Josh Smith have had several disagreements this year.
Smith has started all seven games this season and averages 15.3 points, 5.4 rebounds and 2.7 assists.
The Detroit Pistons were one of the worst teams in the NBA last season, finishing 29-53 and outside of the top ten in the Eastern Conference.
The PIstons have missed the playoffs the last four seasons, but if the team’s ability to win has changed as much as its roster, Detroit could be in good shape.

The beloved former NBA point guard will need more than tricks up his sleeve to deliver a Detroit team that has not won more than 30 games in any of the past four seasons.
New assistant coaches Henry Bibby and Maz Trakh will join John Loyer, who’s been on Detroit’s coaching staff the last two seasons.
