Detroit Mayor Bing underwent surgery after doctors found blood clots in his lungs.
“The Mayor’s doing well. He’s looking forward to being back in the office,” said Chief-of-Staff Kirk Lewis.

The Mayor’s office says Bing was addmitted Wednesday afternoon Henry Ford Hospital as “a simple precaution” after experiencing some discomfort.
Dave Bing has been at Henry Ford Hospital for over a week following surgery to correct a perforated colon.
The surgery was needed to repair a perforation of the intestines. Mayor Bing is expected to remain hospitalized for five to seven days.
A spokesperson for the Mayor said it’s a “commonly diagnosed,” non-life-threatening condition.
A spokeswoman for Mayor Dave Bing says that he has been admitted to Henry Ford Hospital for observation.
