medical student killed
A 21-year-old South Carolina man has been convicted for his role in the slaying of a University of Michigan medical student during a robbery at a frat house.
Parents on both sides comforted each other Wednesday as a young man was sentenced to life in prison for the fatal shooting of a University of Michigan medical student.
The 25-year-old was shot to death last July during a break-in at his off-campus fraternity house.
Jones was charged with open murder, which carries a possible penalty of life in prison, along with first degree home invasion and conspiracy to commit home invasion.
