The upcoming playoffs could be the last for Mike Babcock as head coach of the Detroit Red Wings.
“There’s risk in anything you do,” Babcock said Monday after he announced Mrazek will start the first playoff game against Tampa Bay.
About 10 months ago, Detroit Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock thought the team had no chance of making the playoffs.
“The energy for Opening Day, for me it’s a kin to the Super Bowl. It’s kind of an unofficial holiday for Michigan and Detroit. It’s a lot of fun to be a part of it.”
“I think any time you’re proud, you want to score, you want to help the team,” Babcock said. “His production’s still been at a high rate.”
“He won last time out, he’s our veteran guy,” Red Wings head coach Mike Babcock said. “And now Jimmy, the ball’s in his court right here.”
“I think we’ll see what our group’s made of these last five games,” Red Wings forward Justin Abdelkader said Friday.
“When you wake up today, you play the guy and the players that you think give you the best chance to win that night,” Holland said.
I want to be out there every single night, but Coach feels like I don’t deserve it,” Howard said Friday.
The starting goaltender job of the Detroit Red Wings appears to be up for grabs.
