St. Jerome’s Laneway Festival is scheduled to make its U.S. debut – could you take a guess at which city it might be headed to? No, it’s not the “typical” cities, New York City or Los Angeles – they’ve chosen Detroit. St. Jerome’s annual Laneway Festival – that grew out of Australia and became one of the biggest musical festivals in the world – will celebrate this year here in Metro Detroit at the Meadow Brook Music Theater on Saturday, September 14th.
“If you say you don’t like electronic music, but you’re listening to a Taylor Swift remix in your car and you’re tapping your toe, you’re listening to electronic music. I mean, there’s no way around it,” said Fotias.
A Detroit hospital saw an increase in drug overdose cases from so-called “rave” drugs during the Movement Electronic Music Festival, over Memorial Day weekend.
Organizers say the downpour of rain put them behind, and they have been working around the clock to have everything ready when the gates open up Saturday at noon.
