A federal judge has agreed to sever some of the charges against a man accused of killing a 4-year-old boy on an Indian reservation near Mount Pleasant.
The 45-year-old accepted a plea deal in the 1991 rape and killing of a mother of five at a metro Detroit social agency where both of them worked.

Police say they’re received a ton of information, but have yet to ID the killer.
