The long-awaited, highly-anticipated “Oz The Great and Powerful” is finally here! Two hours after the movie began and the credits started rolling, the audience at a preview screening broke out into applause.
At $100 million, “Oz” is the most expensive movie ever shot in Michigan.
“Oz The Great and Powerful,” filmed in Detroit, imagines the origins of L. Frank Baum’s beloved character, the Wizard of Oz.
Metro Detroiters turned out in large numbers for a casting call for the movie: “Oz: The Great and Powerful.” It’s a pre-quel to the Wizard of Oz.
The road to “Oz” is coming to Metro Detroit. Disney’s “Oz: The Great and Powerful” is looking for extras for the movie, which stars James Franco and Mila Kunis.
An open casting call will be held for those over 18 at the Raleigh Studios in Pontiac from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. on June 11th.
