The Detroit Red Wings today recalled right wing Teemu Pulkkinen from the AHL’s Grand Rapids Griffins and assigned goaltender Petr Mrazek to the Griffins.
Mrazek will stick around for at least one more game, backing up Howard in Saturday’s game against the Winnipeg Jets.
“Even it was only four shots, it’s still four shots I haven’t had in a month,” Howard said.
“Not going to give it up that easy, that’s for sure,” Howard said Tuesday as he sat in his locker and Mrazek sat in the next stall.
Petr Mrazek gave up five goals in two periods Thursday to the Tampa Bay Lightning, who jumped into first place in the East with the win.
In the six games Mrazek has played in January, five times he has limited opponents to two goals or fewer.
Mr. Mrazek, you have the coolest goalie masks in the game and now one of the hottest girls in the game.
‘Tis the season to be merry — and that’s exactly what the Detroit Red Wings goalies are up to.
The Detroit Red Wings have recalled goaltender Tom McCollum from the Grand Rapids Griffins of the AHL and assigned goalie Petr Mrazek to the Griffins.
McCollum re-signed with the Red Wings this summer after spending the 2013-14 season on an AHL contract. He was drafted by Detroit in the first round in 2008.
