Planet Ant Theatre examines the community’s racial, cultural and religious differences with the world premiere of Margaret Edwartowski’s “Hamtown Races.” The result is a near-flawless production.
However, this is what I love about Planet Ant: they don’t pretend to be anything they aren’t. They’re not Second City.
“The Do Over” runs only about an hour, yet never seems rushed. The story has a beginning, a middle and an end, but just when you think it’s all wrapped up, along comes a sweet little coda.
The audience laughed, knowingly, I think, as in “I get it”, sometimes even before the line had left the performer’s mouth.
I left after a thoroughly enjoyable two-act production that introduced me to a promising new playwright. It can’t get much better than that!
