The number of days homes are on market have dropped in the past year, and the number of homes for sale have increased, according to the most recent figures released by Realcomp.
RealComp says while the number of homes sold last month was about even compared to one year ago, the median sales price jumped 40 percent.
October was another month of solid recovery for the southeast Michigan housing market.
The number of houses on the market has decreased in many areas, driving value up.

Wayne County was up almost 4 percent, Oakland rose 1.7 percent and Livingston County sales were up nearly 6 percent.
Home sales are up in metro Detroit. Realcomp says about 500 more homes sold this July over last year in all but Wayne County.
