Police are investigating a case where a mother left her young children inside of her running vehicle which was carjacked at repair shop in Redford on Monday.
Sgt. Eren Stephens told WWJ Newsradio 950 that the incident started around 9:15 p.m. Wednesday evening when four suspects attempted to rob two people.
Officers were dispatched to Norborne Road off of I-96 between Beech Daly and Inkster, where they found an 18-year-old woman in someone’s front yard who appeared to have suffered a gunshot wound.
The suspect’s SUV rolled over on its roof and came to a rest on a sign outside of the Our Lady Of Loretto Church, while the other spun out of control, killing the female driver.
“She was like ‘You shot me,’ and he was like ‘Oh man, now my life is over. Why you just didn’t go? Why you just didn’t leave?'”
A 20-year-old woman has received three years’ probation for using a belt to beat her 14-year-old cousin in a videotaped attack posted online.

Police say a group of people allegedly involved in a home break-in nearby were followed to this home.
