Carol Cain profiles Randy Hekman, one of the three Republicans vying for the U.S. Senate in Michigan’s Aug 7th primary. The winner will take on Sen. Debbie Stabenow in the November contest.
“I am the only Republican who has had Democrats, Independents, Republicans, and Tea Party people who have signed and circulated petitions, given and raised money,” Durant says.
“Mr. Durant continues to mislead voters about his pay arrangements, activities with his Super PAC, and Hoekstra’s record with his negative attacks,” Greg VanWoerkom, spokesman for Hoekstra, said Monday.
U.S. Sen. Debbie Stabenow’s campaign is reporting that the Michigan Democrat raised over $1.2 million in the last three months of 2011, leaving her with a $5.9 million campaign chest.
As expected, Gov. Rick Snyder plans to endorse former Congressman Pete Hoekstra in the GOP race for the U.S. Senate seat held by Democrat Debbie Stabenow.
