University of Michigan men’s basketball head coach John Beilein announced today that junior guard Spike Albrecht has undergone hip surgery.
“It was a real wake-up call,” junior guard Caris LeVert said Monday. “We’ve really gotten better because of those games.”
“You have a better evaluation of your team,” Beilein said. “Now your preseason practices should be more on point than they normally would.”
Tomorrow’s matchup between No. 3 Michigan State and No. 21 Michigan is just the latest installment of a rivalry that has become much closer, even though Michigan has only won once in East Lansing in the past ten years.
So, what do you think — Does the freshman have a shot?
Albrecht brushed off the heroics of his high-scoring feat, saying he’s not exactly a newcomer anymore.
