Black Wednesday, the night before Thanksgiving Day, is renown as one of the biggest bar nights nationwide. It is the night to go out on the town and see friends you have missed hanging with who are all in town for the holidays. Detroit is no exception and has a variety of establishments that would be excellent for a meet up. Some are sophisticated while others are geared towards sports fans. Even the laid-back crowd has options. If dancing is more your style, there are bars open on that night to dance the night away. The atmosphere is casual and very inviting, especially on a cold November eve. What this bar lacks in decor, it makes up for in passion. The ambiance is as eclectic as the patrons that frequent it. There is a pool table and a jukebox to make the most of your night with those you haven't seen all year. The regulars are a mix of students and business people, and everything in between. Drinks are basic, such as beer and shots, but not expensive.

As a place to see and be seen, dress to impress. Although there is no formal dress code, the policy is that hats must be removed upon entering.
