The main attractions at Metro Beach are the beach on Lake St. Clair, the pool with two water slide and diving boards, and the "Squirt Zone" where kids can play with equipment that shoots water.

Stony Creek Metropark straddles three townships - Washington Township and Oakland Charter Township, with a small portion in Shelby Township. There are two beaches on Stony Creek lake, one of which (Eastwood) features life guards.

Island Lake Recreation Area lies on the Huron River just downstream of Kensington Metropark, off I-96 and M-23. It has a couple small lakes and there's camping, and hiking/biking trails. It also has a hot-air balloon launch area.
