Best Bowling Alleys In Detroit

I heard somewhere that the term bowling alley is not used in the industry anymore. Now they want to be called bowling centers. I guess it does spruce up the image a bit so I'll humor 'em. Roll some "rocks" at our favorite bowling centers.

The Garden Bowl has been around for nearly 100 years and is still going strong. From the dankly lit bar to the glow of the neon over the lanes, this is the perfect spot to tip a few beers and throw a few balls. The vibe is edgy, yet laid back. A light wallet will get you a lot here. On weeknights, it's an easy three games and three beers PLUS a slice of pizza for about $25! And that includes a nice tip for the friendly and fun bar staff.

This bowling alley is one of the best in Michigan and probably competes with national venues. It boasts the second largest number of lanes in the country at 90.

This is a really great bowling alley!

It's large, well-lit, well-kept and overall pretty awesome. They are constantly running specials for cheap bowling. They can get busy (like most alleys) so always call before you show up because they may not have a lane open! Find billiards and other table games along with typical bowling alley fare in the bar area.

Woodhaven Lanes

Check out Cosmic Bowling, beer specials and lots of fundraiser and special events at Woodhaven Lanes. A popular choice is "Thirsty Thursdays" including $1.50 games, $1.50 shoes, $1.50 beers, Long Islands and popcorn from 9 p.m. to midnight.

The alley is extremely clean and the wood is very nice. It looks like they get their wood from IKEA it's so pristine (sans allen wrenches). The scoring screens are all touch screen and easy to use. Plus, the animations between frames are hi-larious. The lanes are in fine working order, the pins rarely need a reset.
