Best Dog-Friendly Hiking Trails Near Detroit

After a long day it is time to sit and relax. Once comfortable, you look over at your dog and notice he has those big, puppy-dog eyes that are telling you he is tired of laying around and wants to play. Do you ignore his request or do you take him to a park? A nice park has plenty of running space, a clean environment, a place to play and an area for both you and your dog to go for a walk. Find a park that has all the amenities you both need and enjoy the fresh air for a few hours.

Here there are nice paths for cyclists and walkers, and plenty of green grass for a person to play with their dog. The walking trails total one and one-third mile. This park connects to the Detroit RiverWalk, which follows the river and connects to Milliken State Park, and puts people near the Renaissance Center and several other shopping plazas.

This dog park is not free; it has an annual fee of $15 and you must make sure your dog is vaccinated. But for those who are willing to pay a small fee, enjoy the benefits of a beautiful park. The park itself has nice facilities with much running space for your dog, and even an obstacle course for them to enjoy. Or there is plenty of grass in the park to take a nice stroll around the perimeter of the dog park.

To access this park you can either buy a $5 day pass or pay approximately $50 for an annual pass. There is no shade at this park, so be mindful of the heat, but your dog will absolutely love the running space and the ability to play with other dogs. There are areas to sit and relax while Fido runs and plays. And if your dog gets dirty there is even a place to wash him down. The best part: there are double gates when entering and exiting the park for your dog's safety.

This park is in a beautiful natural area that follows the river and leads in and out of wooded spaces. There is a little less than three miles of trail, both paved and gravel, for you and your dog to walk. The trail is open to foot traffic and bicyclists- so everyone should feel safe. Enjoy the park and a daily stroll.

This park is clean and provides much entertainment for people. There is a small picnic area and playground for children to play. There are plenty of nature trails. And there are places where you can sit and relax by the water while your dog relaxes too. Enjoy the smell of fresh air, a nice long walk, the flowers, and all the other animals in nature too.

There is a small fee to enter this park. Once in, there are over three acres for your dog to run. It provides beautiful scenery, a timid dog area, benches, dog and human drinking fountains, and dog waste stations. A perfect place for both owner and dog.

This is a beautiful park that provides a thirteen acre run for your dog. There are hiking trails, recreational fields, picnic areas and a playground. This is a park that has 1,024 acres, and 800 of those acres are preserved wetlands. Make this a family day where you also bring your dog along too.
