Detroit is the oldest American city outside of the original 13 U.S. colonies. Since 1701, the city has seen many, many hotels come and go over the years, many of which catered to the richest and most powerful people in the world. These days, Detroit has become the country's darling with much of the United States looking to Detroit for its historic architecture and unspoiled establishments of old. Many of Detroit's best luxury hotels are the renovated ones of old that captured so many in wonder, and some are brand new and top of the line, just waiting to be broken in.
