The shop specializes in those who are plus-size, full-figure, and “hard to fit.” You can browse its site online, or stop by the shop to look at different fabrics and colors. The swimwear is categorized by bra cup size, some are designed for D-DD cups, others for F to KK cups. The store also has “standard cups” for sizes A, B, and C, which have a hidden pocket in the bra lining if you want to add a lift or shaper to it. Exelnt Designs carries juniors, misses, and womens sizes, and also sells swimwear accessories.

The Shop was opened in 1954 by a former Birmingham High School football coach, who also played football for the University of Michigan. It has been family owned and operated since then, and usually has team apparel for the local high schools. While you’re choosing your Speedo, you can also pick up a varsity jacket, college or professional logo apparel, and any athletic shoes you might need.

Although Corky’s is primarily known for its skating and surfing gear, it also sells bathing suits in-store or online at its website. The store has been around in the Roseville area since the 1980s, and offers an extensive amount of bathing suits, surfing and skating gear, and accessories. Corky’s website offers free shipping on orders over $75 in case Roseville isn’t close to where you live.

Mother Fletcher’s is for the thrifty shopper, who also likes a vintage flair. The shop is located on 9 Mile Road near Woodward in Ferndale, and boasts Metro Detroit’s largest selection of vintage clothing and accessories for both men and women. The shop does sell swimsuits, and if you’re lucky, perhaps you can find some accessories to go with the suit you purchase. The store does say that they usually only have a limited selection of suits, but it depends on the time of year and what they have in stock. Mother Fletcher’s is closed on Mondays but is open from 12 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday and 12 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Sundays.

Bivouac is hard to miss when you visit downtown Ann Arbor, as it occupies a prime space of real estate at the corner of N. University Ave. and State St. Among the outdoor and camping equipment, it also sells swimsuits.
