When the McNamara Terminal was planned and built, the idea was to offer visitors a shopping and dining experience, whether they were there for a fine filet mignon or a flight to Morocco. But with the advent of September 11, security became the all important concern and the general public could no longer access the massive shopping and dining complex there. So when you find yourself at Metropolitan Airport and are a bit thirsty, take advantage of the top-notch establishments that allow you to whet your whistle.
If what you are looking for is a bit upscale and at the same time a place to relax and watch a game, then Champps is the place to go. Enjoy some of the great hot wings, a glass of your favorite beverage and the view on a bevy of hi-def televisions along with a video wall and surround sound. It is the place for the sports bar experience at Metro Airport that you will not forget.

But unlike many of the establishments at the terminal, along with beer, it also offers a wide array of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages to enjoy. There is a full menu to satisfy your hunger while relaxing in the casual atmosphere you will find here.

Named after its downtown Detroit brother, Hockeytown Cafe at Detroit Metropolitan Airport offers visitors a familiar place to grab a beverage and a bite while waiting for their flight. Honoring the hometown Detroit Redwings, hockey fans in particular will find a home away from home at this classic sports bar. Foods range from burgers to, of course, wings, and the selection of beers on tap and in a bottle will make it easy to find something you like. When you are at the new North Terminal, take the time to stop in, look over the memorabilia honoring the Red Wings and then relax and enjoy your time while waiting for your flight.
