Best Summer 2016 Races In Detroit

If you enjoy running as a hobby, spring in Detroit offers the perfect time of year to find a wide array of races to run. What type of race would you like to participate in? There are family runs (about 1 mile), 5K races (3.2 miles), 10K races (6.4 miles), half marathons (13.1 miles), marathons (26.2 miles) and triathlons: swim, bike, run (the distances for triathlons depend on the race), and there are fun runs like obstacle courses, mud runs and color runs. Are you a sprinter or an Olympian? (If you're looking for the shorter run, choose a sprint.) This race is at the end of May, so pay attention to the temperature of the water; a wet suit might be beneficial. Everyone is friendly, so don't be nervous. But be prepared to be competitive.
