According to the non-profit behind the horticulture exhibition, "The World Cup of Gardening will connect international award-winning landscape artists and their living art with under-served neighborhoods and aims to bring to Belle Isle the most beautiful garden show in the world."

A kick-off party starts the festival off with a bang, culminating in the wrap-up event, signaling the closure of the festival until next fall rolls around.
