The museum and the grounds, designed in Beaux-Arts style by architect Paul Philippe Cret, present many opportunities for photos. The DIA has 100 galleries and showcases a diverse collection of artwork from all over the world, including many classic works by master artists and modern visionaries. The museum allows non-flash photography of their permanent collection. You will enjoy taking photos of the DIA’s extensive permanent collection, which includes notable works like Diego Rivera’s “Detroit Industry” fresco and Vincent van Gogh’s “Self Portrait.”

The Michigan State Park is an island on the Detroit River located between the United States and Canada, and connected to Detroit by the MacArthur Bridge. Landscape architect Frederick Law Olmstead designed the island park in the 1880s, and created an environment rich in natural woodland beauty. The island features some historic Detroit landmarks that retain the original architectural design, such as the Anna Scripps Whitcomb Conservatory, the James Scott Memorial Fountain, the Belle Isle Aquarium, and the Dossin Great Lakes Museums. Island attractions also include deer encounters at the Belle Isle Nature Zoo, carriage rides, golfing and bike rentals. This is a place where you can photograph some enjoyable family moments, a bit of Detroit’s history, and the natural beauty of Michigan.

Greenfield Village is an 80-acre outdoor living history museum.
