"Secret" Symptoms Of Rheumatoid Arthritis

Pat Sweeting Reporting

Can the pain in your joints be linked to difficulties with your vision? Yes, if the pain is caused by Rheumatoid Arthritis.

Rheumatoid Arthritis is an autoimmune disease which causes the body to attack itself, leaving RA sufferers with joint pain and stiffness and fatigue.

But, Rheumatoid Arthritis is also known to be linked to conditions such as dry eyes, inflammation of the eye, glaucoma which can result in gradual vision loss, and blindness and cataracts or a clouding of the eye.

If you've noticed such symptoms, it's advised that you visit an ophthalmologist for screening and treatment if needed. Also, if you've been experiencing joint pain, don't simply shrug it off figuring it's just part of the aging process.

A health care professional can help you identify what's causing your joint pain and begin therapy which may include medication, exercise or both, particularly if your weight is contributing to your discomfort.
